Open Mike Reading

BRENTWOOD, CA – In continuing celebration of October as National Arts and Humanities month, the Brentwood Arts Commission announces its first of many Open Mike Readings to be held at the Community Center’s Blue Room at 7:00 pm on October 28, 2004. The evening will be hosted by Liberty High School English Teacher and Councilperson, Ana Gutierrez. The public is welcome to participate in the open mike readings or just listen and enjoy. All forms of poetry, prose, creative non-fiction, etc. are welcome; with one exception: no “flaming,” please. (“Flaming” = abusive or insulting content)

The mission of the Arts Commission is to promote, encourage and stimulate the development of and interest in the fine and performing arts, and to act in an advisory capacity to the City concerning its artistic and cultural development.
