City Offers First Grant Program

BRENTWOOD, CA – The City of Brentwood is proud to introduce its first grant program, the Business License Tax City Grant. Ordinance 707 allows twenty percent (20%) of the business license tax collected to be set aside for economic development, for the explicit purpose of promoting and advertising Brentwood business. Previously, this 20% set-aside was ear-marked solely for use by the Chamber of Commerce. The amended ordinance now makes these funds available to all organizations and community projects within the City of Brentwood.

Organizations, including the Brentwood Chamber of Commerce, may apply annually for these funds on a project by project basis through the Economic Development Director. Disbursement of these funds will require City Council approval. City Grant applications are due to the City by March 31 of each calendar year, for funds available July 1st of the next fiscal year. Applicants will be notified by July 1st if chosen to receive a City Grant. Recipients will be chosen based on priority of project and funds available in this program.

For more information or to request an application, please contact Gail Leech at 925-516-5118 or via e-mail or download application from our website.
