BRENTWOOD, CA – The public is invited to join city staff and elected officials at the Wastewater Treatment Plant dedication ceremony on Friday, August 15, 2003, at 9:00 a.m.

Construction of the $40 million facility began in July, 2002. The project has expanded the city’s tertiary treatment capacity from 2 million gallons per day (MGD) to 5 MGD. The largest construction project in the city’s history was awarded the “Distinguished Large Project of the Year – Over $10 million” by the Northern California Chapter of the American Public Works Association (APWA) in May, 2003. It was also named in the East Bay Times in November of last year as one of the 25 Largest Construction Projects in the East Bay.
