Wastewater Treatment Plant Receives Award

The City of Brentwood’s new Wastewater Treatment Plant was awarded the “Distinguished Project of the Year – Large Category” by the Northern California Chapter of the American Public Works Association (APWA). City Engineer Bailey Grewal nominated the city’s $40 million state-of-the-art facility. Awards were given for three categories: Small ($0-2 million); Medium ($2-10 million); and Large (over $10 million).

Assistant City Engineer Paul Eldredge gave a 10-minute audio-visual presentation on the highlights of the project to a group of 100 individuals at the APWA awards ceremony on May 23, 2003, in Berkeley. The Wastewater Treatment Plant was named in the East Bay Times in November as one of the 25 Largest Construction Projects in the East Bay.
