John Muir/Mt. Diablo Medical Campus Update

The City of Brentwood Planning Commission approved a 108,500 square foot medical office building on March 18, 2003, as phase 1 of the John Muir/Mt. Diablo Health System, Brentwood Medical Campus. This building will be 3 stories, and include a helipad on a 9.5-acre portion of the overall 32 acre medical campus. The uses in the building will include an urgent care center, diagnostic imaging, cardio diagnostics, clinical laboratory, doctors’ offices, pediatric care, physical and occupational cardiac rehab center, ambulatory surgical center, and an orthopedic center.

Plans have not yet been submitted for plan check for this building, but the developer is talking to staff about the process. On May 13 the City Council will review compliance with the previously adopted development agreement, and review the ground lease to the Brentwood MOB Owners LLC, which is being formed as a subsidiary of the DASCO Companies, one of the nation’s leading medical real estate development and acquisition companies. .

DASCO has a long and successful history of providing health care providers such as JMMD with a wide range of professional services, including construction and development services, financing, project management and property management services. The investment banking firm of Lehman Brothers is an investor on DASCO’s medical facility projects such as JMMD’s Brentwood medical campus, and will provide DASCO, Brentwood MOB Owners LLC, and JMMD with access to funding for the Brentwood medical facility. .
