Brentwood Appoints New Assistant Finance and Information Systems Director


BRENTWOOD, CA – Brentwood City Manager, Donna Landeros, and Finance and Information Systems Director, Pam Ehler, are pleased to announce that James Malberg has been hired by the City as the Assistant Finance and Information Systems Director.

The selection process included screening by an executive recruitment firm, and in-depth interviews.

Malberg began his extensive 11 year career in finance and accounting with the American Honda Finance Corporation as a Senior Collector from 1997 – 1998. From 1998 – 2000 he worked as an Accountant/Office Manager with Big Valley Tractor.

From the year 2000 to his hiring at the City of Brentwood, Malberg worked at the City of Stockton, most recently as a Program Manager III.

Malberg received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and a Master of Public Administration Degree both from the California State University, Stanislaus. He has had experience in debt issuance and management, accounting, and budgeting.

City Manager Landeros said, “I am extremely pleased that Jim Malberg chose to continue his career with the City of Brentwood. He brings practiced financial expertise to an already well-rounded and capable Finance team.”

Director of Finance, Pam Ehler commented, “I am really excited about this opportunity. I am really confident that Jim will be a great fit and a wonderful addition to our team.” Malberg will assume his position with the City on July 2nd.
