Regional Transportation
Highway 4 passes through Brentwood, extending easterly through the City of Stockton (approximately 25 miles) and intersecting with Interstate 5 and Highway 99, providing state-wide access. Twenty-five miles to the west, Highway 4 connects Brentwood with the central areas of Contra Costa County including the communities of Walnut Creek and Concord along Interstate 680. Highway 4 also provides access to Interstate 80, connecting Brentwood to the cities of Berkeley, Richmond and San Francisco.
The newly reconstructed Vasco Road links Brentwood to the Interstate 580 corridor and the cities of Livermore, Tracy, Pleasanton, and Dublin.

Commuters can also choose between three new Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) stations. The North Concord/Martinez Station opened Winter 1995 and is located approximately 20 miles from Brentwood. The Baypoint Station (located approximately 15 miles from Brentwood) and the Dublin/Pleasanton Station (located approximately 30 miles from Brentwood) opened in Fall 1996. Additionally, BART operates regularly scheduled Express Bus service between Brentwood and nearby BART stations.

Rail Service
Southern Pacific Railroad maintains a rail line through the City of Brentwood.

Public Transportation
Tri-Delta Transit provides local public transportation including a Dimes-A-Ride bus program that services Brentwood for 20 cents per ride.

Airports
Regional airports in Concord and Stockton, as well as international airports in San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose, and Sacramento are within an easy drive from Brentwood.

Operated by Contra Costa County, Byron Airport is 10 miles to the south of Brentwood. With a primary runway length of 4,500 feet, ultimate plans include expansion of the primary runway to 6,000 feet with the secondary runway spanning 3,500 feet. Currently, the facility accommodates storage for 200 privately owned aircraft with ultimate plans for over 600 aircraft.

Regional Recreation
Brentwood is located within close proximity to California's San Joaquin Delta, a vast network of waterways spanning over 1,100 miles. A short drive from Brentwood to the Delta will satisfy fishing enthusiasts, boaters, and water-skiers alike. The Pacific Ocean is just 1.5 hours from Brentwood and the Sierra Mountains are within a 3 hour drive. The Los Vaqueros Reservoir adds another prime recreation site located just 9 miles south of Brentwood.

Regional Parks
Brentwood also features the Marsh Creek Trail, an addition to the East Bay Regional Park District. This paved bicycle and walking path runs along Marsh Creek and is part of California's DeAnza Recreational Trail System. This trail system connects the community to a variety of recreational opportunities including:
