Lifeguard Information

The Brentwood Family Aquatic Complex uses the National Pool and Waterpark Lifeguard Training Program of Jeff Ellis & Associates. Successful completion of this course will make you eligible for their license. You must be at lease 15 years old to take the class, which includes CPR and First Aid for aquatic emergencies. Attendance at all classes is mandatory.

You must be able to swim 200 yards, tread water without using your hands and retrieve a brick from our deepest pool. Note: Candidates interested in employment with the City of Brentwood should complete an application and return it to the Recreation Main Office. Successful completion of this class does not automatically grant you a position on the aquatics staff.

Volunteer at the pool! After successfully completing this course, (which covers water safety and basic rescue skills, customer service, facility operations, teamwork, leadership skills, basic work skills, First Aid and CPR), Jr. Lifeguards will be invited to volunteer at pool events. Participants must be able to swim 6 laps of front crawl and tread water for 2 minutes. Course fee includes books and a t-shirt.
