The Brentwood Police Activities League (BPAL) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 1998 through a grant offered by the John Muir Foundation. The Brentwood Police Activities League was established to serve all children who live in or attend school in Brentwood and adjoining communities. BPAL strives to establish positive relationships between our youth, police officers, and the community of Brentwood. BPAL's goals are to provide alternatives to gangs, drugs, and other criminal activities through a vast array of programs.
BPAL was recognized nationally in 2006 for the “After the Bell” nutrition program. BPAL is currently supervised by Executive Director Officer Roger Wilson and a Board of Directors. BPAL currently offers several after school programs which include the following:
Golf at Shadow Lakes Golf Course
Bowling at Harvest Park Bowl
Martial Arts at Verrett Karate (Beginning in August of 2009)
BPAL also hosts several fundraising events throughout the year. The events consist of:
Brentwood Skate competition held annually at the Brentwood Skate complex
Super bowl barbeque cook-off held annually at Harvest Park Bowl
Tour de Starbucks bicycle ride held every May throughout the City of Brentwood
Wrestling Tournament held annually for youth throughout the state of California
Bowling Tournament to be held in October of 2009 for youth from California PAL agencies.
