In addition to funding public improvements such as roadways, water and sewer, the Brentwood Redevelopment Agency has partnered with private investors and the City of Brentwood for the development of several residential, commercial, and industrial projects throughout the Agency’s two Project Areas. As a result of the Agency’s investments in these carefully planned projects, the value of the property increases which, in turn, generates tax increment revenues that flow back to the Agency to be used for future projects. Below is the Agency’s Investment Portfolio that reflects the return of the Agency’s investment in various projects over the last few years.

A chain reaction occurs where the ultimate economic output is larger than the original Agency investment. In other words, looking at a return-on-investment method to gauge the Brentwood Redevelopment Agency’s success in its revitalization efforts is only one measurement of success. Other measurements include attraction of new businesses, creation of jobs, additional sales tax revenues for the City and, in general, building a healthy local economy by keeping the local tax dollars at home.
The projects listed above will create over 1,300 jobs, provide 38 affordable housing units, generate over $200,000 annually in revenue for the City, have a multiplier impact on the local economy of over $56M annually, and increase property values by over $123M.
This Investment Portfolio is updated annually. Watch as the Brentwood Redevelopment Agency builds a better community for its citizens to live and work.
