Under general supervision, the holder of this position is responsible for assisting with the daily duties associated with community recreation programs, sports, aquatics related activities, facility supervision, and special events. Primary duties may include planning, organizing, implementing, and running youth sport programs, coaching, officiating, or umpiring sports activities. Facilitate facility rentals and special classes, provide front counter coverage as needed, distribute promotional material, and work with the general public. Provide customer service and a safe environment for patrons using City facilities by enforcing park and recreation rules and regulations. Duties may include but are not limited to; monitoring of classes and sport or aquatic activities accepting registration; supervising open gyms and various sports events. Perform other duties as deemed necessary.
MUST BE WILLING TO WORK WEEKENDS, EVENING HOURS, AND HOLIDAYS AND FULFILL THEIR JOB DUTIES THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE
Must be 16 years of age with a minimum of six-(6) month’s community recreation experience as a Recreation Aide or related equivalent experience. A valid certification in community CPR and Standard first aid within 90 days of being hired. Facility rental and youth recreation programming experience is highly desirable. Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull moderate to heavy amounts of weight.
$9.73 – 11.83 per hour, no benefits
