Retirement

PERS 2.7% @ 55 Plan.  City pays employer contribution (16.914%).  Employee pays 2% of the 8% employee contribution.

New Hires effective October 1, 2010 or after – PERS 2% @ 60 Plan.  City pays employer contribution (16.914%).  Employee pays 7% employee contribution.

Post Retirement Health Benefits
Health Plan City pays up to $1,226.63 monthly for premiums under the PERS Medical Program or $610.44 monthly cash in lieu of health insurance with proof of other coverage.
Dental City pays premium for full family coverage.
Vision Care City pays premium for full family coverage.
Life Insurance & AD&D Ins. One and one-half times annual salary to $150,000 maximum. (Premium 20.5 per $1,000 of insurance)
Long Term Disability Two-thirds of salary with a current maximum benefit of $10,000, after a 29-day waiting period. (Premium - .65 per $100 covered)
Vacation Leave 1-5 years 128 hours
5-10 years 168 hours
10+ years 208 hours
Vacation Buyback May receive cash for up to 80 hours of accrued vacation in March and October of each year.
Administrative Leave Up to 80 hours may be granted per fiscal year.
Sick Leave Eight hours accrued per month.
Bereavement Leave Up to 3 days, except if household member or out of state up to 5 days.
Holidays Fourteen per year. (12 set holidays, 2 floating)
Longevity Incentive Plan At 5, 10, 15 years, etc., employee receives a bonus week of vacation time, that year only.
Deferred Compensation The City administers deferred compensation plans through ICMA, VALIC and CalPERS. A matching employer contribution up to $110 per month is available. Employees may invest income on a pre-tax basis up to an annual maximum of $17,000, including the employer match.
Flexible Benefits Plan A voluntary plan that allows employees to set aside earnings to pay for certain eligible dependent care and health care expenses on a pre-tax basis.
Spanish Bilingual Pay $600 per fiscal year.
PERS Is not configured into base salary.
Medicare City pays 1.45% and Employee pays 1.45%.
FICA The City contracts with CalPERS for retirement benefits, therefore the City does not contribute to FICA.
