Neighborhood Improvement Committee
A standing subcommittee of the City Council comprised of two Council Members holding regular monthly meetings. This committee will research and evaluate policies and programs to improve Brentwood’s neighborhoods. “Improvement” is broadly defined to include public safety, property improvements, such as property maintenance, code enforcement, and street trees; as well as behavior which may affect other residents, such as barking dogs.
Liaison to Brentwood Advisory Neighborhood Committee: One member of this committee shall also serve as the Council’s liaison to the BANC committee with the goal of facilitating communication between BANC and the Council’s Neighborhood Improvement Committee. The work of the committee is to make recommendations to the full Council and to receive direction from the Council. The work of this committee may involve significant commitment of City resources, including staff, legal work and budget.
The committee will work with staff to prepare a prioritized work plan to present to the City Council. This committee’s work effort will involve staff from several departments. The coordinator of the staff support for this committee will be Karen Chew, Assistant City Manager. |

Land Use and Development Committee
This committee is comprised of two Council Members and two advisory members of the Planning Commission. This committee serves as a policy, implementation and review board for items directly related to land use and development within the City of Brentwood. Topics and areas of focus include, but are not limited to: Housing, Economic Development, General Plan, Zoning, Urban Limit Line, and Development Review Process.
In addition to the above outlined topics and areas, this committee’s purview includes the review of special projects, those that likely could be high profile/potentially volatile projects, as well as those having City participation, such as development subsidies.

This committee is comprised of two Redevelopment Agency Board members. This committee serves as a policy, implementation and review board for items directly related to the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Brentwood.
In addition to the above outlined topics and areas, this committee’s purview includes the review of special projects, those that likely could be high profile / potentially volatile projects, as well as those having Agency participation, such as development subsidies.

Design Review
Standing committee designed to review minor changes to Planning Commission project approvals referred to them by Planning staff, as well as specific design elements deferred to the subcommittee by the Planning Commission.

Agricultural Enterprise Committee
This committee will serve as a policy, implementation and review board for items directly related to agricultural enterprise within the City and along the City’s boundaries in the County’s Agricultural Core. The scope of this committee will be broadly defined to include:
Development of an Agricultural Enterprise Strategic Plan
Marketing programs
Property/easement acquisition and implementation
The work of the committee is to provide City staff with policy direction and make recommendations to the full Council. The full Council may also provide direction to the committee.
This committee’s work effort will involve staff primarily from the Community Development Department, the department currently overseeing the Agricultural Enterprise Program. The coordinator of the staff support for this committee is Casey McCann, Community Development Director and Hazel Wetherford, Economic Development Division. |
