NEW BUSINESS (8:42 PM)

2. Presentation of Brentwood Redevelopment Agency’s past achievements and future challenges (H. Sword/G. Rozenski)

Redevelopment Manager, Gina Rozenski, presented a staff report and explained Redevelopment fundamentals and benefits, new goals, investment and philosophy strategies, and implementation of philosophy. She informed that strategic, long-range planning and comprehensive revitalization were necessary to achieve success and by financing Redevelopment projects strategically, revitalization occurred in both project areas. Over time, the two project areas as a whole could be an overall benefit for the entire community. Redevelopment was a successful tool to revitalize older sections of town, build a healthy local economy, increase job base, create affordable housing opportunities, improve infrastructure, assist with much needed projects, generate additional revenues and provide greater services.
