City of Brentwood
Proclamation

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Brentwood deems it important to recognize and honor the millions of men and women who have served their Country in times of peace and war in the United States military; and

WHEREAS, our Nation is blessed and bound together by a belief in freedom and equality that is entrusted to all Americans as well as preserving the ideals of our Nation’s foundation which requires service and sacrifice of every generation; and

WHEREAS, the dedication and selflessness of our nation’s soldiers should be an inspiration to us all. Some of our finest men and women have given their lives in the name of freedom. Through their ultimate sacrifice they have given us a legacy of liberty and brought honor to our flag, our country; and the uniform, and

WHEREAS, the families of our soldiers who reside in our community also deserve special recognition for their sacrifices as they deal with the physical and emotional demands put upon their loved ones; and

WHEREAS, it is also important to the Brentwood community to express care and concern for the welfare of our military personnel both past and present; and

WHEREAS, the light of freedom shines brightly because of compassionate people who care about others. Their dedication to a cause greater than self gives all Americans confidence in the future of our Nation; and

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOVED, we, the City Council of the City of Brentwood do hereby recognize the contribution that each member of the United States military makes to our Nation, our State, and our City and encourage all residents of Brentwood to support our men and women in the military.
