Subject/Title: Acceptance of Arts Commissioner’s Resignation

RECOMMENDATION
Accept the resignation request of Arts Commissioner Annette Seabury, effective July 24, 2007.

PREVIOUS ACTION

City Council appointed Commissioner Seabury to the Arts Commission on February 28, 2006. The Arts Commission approved her resignation on June 27, 2007.

On February 27, 2007 the City Council approved that future vacancies on the Commission should not be filled until the Commission membership is reduced to 12 members; at that time, a revision to the Arts Commission Ordinance should be considered to reduce from 25 to 12.

BACKGROUND

On May 25, 2007 Commissioner Seabury submitted her letter of resignation. If approved, there will be eleven Arts Commissioners. She intends to spend more time with her children and continue her involvement as the Lead Art Docent at Brentwood Elementary School.

FISCAL IMPACT
This report bears no fiscal impact.
