PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS, anyone can be a victim domestic violence; and

WHEREAS, domestic violence is widespread, crossing all ethnic, racial, age, national origin, sexual orientation, religious, and socio-economic lines; and

WHEREAS, domestic violence affects over 4 million Americans each year; and

WHEREAS, over 3 million children are exposed to family violence each year. Growing up in a violent home is a significant factor for youth violence; and

WHEREAS, violence learned in the home is acted out in our schools and communities, impacting the safety and health of the entire community; and

WHEREAS, residents of Brentwood should feel safe in their homes, their schools, and their citys; and

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED,
