Accept the Parks and Recreation Department amendment to the 2002/03 Master
Fee Schedule/Cost Allocation Plan Resolution No. 2969 to include two new
programs and fees for the Parks and Recreation Department. These programs
are: Mobile Piano Lab - Youth Music program, and a One Pitch Adult Softball
Tournament - Adult Sports Program.
On February 11, 2003 City Council accepted the report and methodology for
the Parks and Recreation Department Cost of Services Study prepared by
On June 10, 2003 City Council approved Parks and Recreation fees to include
the 2.3% consumer price index increase. Aquatics, Facility Rentals, and
Senior Programs were not included in this increase.
On August 26, 2003 City Council approved a Resolution adopting the 2003/2004
Cost Allocation Plan to include Parks and Recreation Fees.
These programs are new offerings that staff wishes to include in the next
Parks and Recreation Activities Guide. The fees for the programs are as
Mobile Piano Lab $ 98.00
One Pitch Adult Softball Tournament $145.00
Both programs meet the City Council policy of covering direct costs and will
be advertised once approved by City Council. See attached worksheet.
Revenue and expenditure projections for Mobile Piano Lab are $1,411 and $897
respectively. Revenue and expenditure projections for One Pitch Adult
Softball Tournament are $870 and $853 respectively. Both programs meet City
Council policy of recovering all direct costs.
City of Brentwood Parks and Recreation Fees
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BRENTWOOD AMENDING THE
2003/04 MASTER FEE SCHEDULE/COST ALLOCATION PLAN ADOPTED BY RESOLUTION NO.
WHEREAS, MAXIMUS Consulting Group conducted a fee study for the Parks and
Recreation Department on January 13, 2003; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Brentwood accepted the report and
methodology for the Parks and Recreation Department Cost of Services Study
prepared by Maximus; and
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Department of the City of Brentwood used
the report to prepare the fiscal year 2003/05 budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brentwood,
that the 2003/04 Master Fee Schedule be amended.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Brentwood at
a regular meeting on the 14th day of October 2003 by the following vote:
