Reject the claim submitted by Arlene Bingham as recommended by the City’s
third-party insurance adjuster, Contra Costa County Municipal Risk
Management Insurance Authority and the City Attorney.
Claimant, Arlene Bingham, presented a claim in the amount of $230 for cost
of constructing an artificial shade covering and to replace various shade
plants. The claimant stated that her shade plants suffered damage due to
full sun exposure as a result of the city removing four ash trees on city
property on San Jose Avenue. According to Parks & Recreation staff, removal
was necessary because the trees were diseased and there was excessive root
