RECOMMENDATION
Approval to distribute the Youth Commission’s Teen Crisis Referral Card to the community and support in the distribution of the card to Liberty High, Bristow Middle and Edna Middle Schools.

PREVIOUS ACTION
The Youth Commission presented their findings from their youth interest survey and youth master plan recommendations to City Council on September 24, 2002. In accepting the survey results and master plan recommendations, City Council directed staff to set up a workshop with the Youth Commission to discuss the results. On October 22, 2002 a workshop was held for the Youth Commission and City Council to discuss the results. They gave the Youth Commission their support in going ahead with the Youth Master Plan.

BACKGROUND
Staff is recommending that City Council approve the Teen Crisis Referral Card, which is Phase I of the Youth Master Plan. As a result of the City Council action we are working with both the Liberty Union High School District and Brentwood Union School District for distribution of the Teen Crisis Referral Card.

The Youth Commission on February 26, 2003 gave a presentation to the Liberty Union High School District Board on the Youth Master Plan.
