Reject the claim submitted by Grace Webster as recommended by the City’s third-party insurance adjuster, Contra Costa County Municipal Risk Management Insurance Authority and the City Attorney


Grace Webster presented a claim on February 11, 2003 in the amount of $15,000 for an incident that took place on August 16, 2002 on Highway 4, west of Hillcrest Road in Antioch.  According to the claim Ms. Webster’s vehicle was rear ended by a bus owned, operated and/or managed by the Western Contra Costa County Transit Authority.

The claim has been tendered to Laidlaw Transit, who operates the bus service on behalf of the Eastern Contra Costa County Transit Authority, dba Tri-Delta Transit.  Other agency members have been brought into this case including the cities of Antioch, Pittsburg, and Oakley.

The City has received written confirmation from the Transit Authority’s insurance company that they are in communication with the Ms. Webster’s attorney regarding resolution of the claims.


No fiscal impact at this time.
