RECOMMENDATION
Approve a resolution authorizing payment of $200,000 to the Liberty Union High School District for construction renovation costs of the Liberty High School Athletic Field over the next two fiscal years.

PREVIOUS ACTION 
This project was first approved by City Council on May 28, 2002 as a part of the 2002/2003 – 2006/2007 Capital Improvement Program, with payments of $100,000 to be paid in fiscal year 2002/03 and $100,000 to be paid in fiscal year 2003/04.

BACKGROUND
Liberty Union High School District and the City of Brentwood have a long history of joint use and construction for School/City facilities. CIP No. 522-5225 provides $200,000 toward the project costs of $1,245,000+ for the renovation of the Liberty High School football field from grass to all-weather sport turf and the dirt track to an all-weather track. Approval of this resolution will allow for payment to the School District as per the approved City of Brentwood CIP. 

FISCAL IMPACT 
$100,000 in Park Development fees in Fiscal Year 2002/03 and $100,000 in Park Development fees in Fiscal Year 2003/04.

RESOLUTION NO. 


A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BRENTWOOD AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO APPROVE PAYMENT OF $200,000 TO LIBERTY UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT, CIP 522-5225


WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Brentwood, approved the Liberty High School Athletic Field Renovation Project as a part of the 2002/2003 – 2006/2007 Capital Improvement Program with payments of $100,000 to be paid in fiscal year 2002/03 and $100,000 to be paid in fiscal year 2003/04; and

WHEREAS, Liberty Union High School District and the City of Brentwood have a long history of joint use and construction for School/City facilities; and

WHEREAS, payment of $200,000 to the Liberty Union High School District will help to renovate the Liberty High School football field by converting from grass to all-weather sport turf, and converting the dirt track to an all-weather track. 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brentwood, hereby authorizes payment of $200,000 to the Liberty Union High School District. $100,000 in Park Development fees in Fiscal Year 2002/03 and $100,000 in Park Development fees in Fiscal Year 2003/04.

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Brentwood at a regular meeting on the 10th day of December 2002 by the following vote:
