Subject/Title: Approve a Resolution authorizing the execution of a Quitclaim Deed for a portion of Parcel “C” of Subdivision No. 8221 to Signature Properties.

Approve a Resolution authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk or their designees to execute a Quitclaim Deed, and any documents necessary, to terminate the City’s interest in the Offer of Dedication of a portion of Parcel “C”, as shown on that certain final map entitled “Subdivision No. 8221”, filed July 17, 2000 in Book 421 of Maps, Page 26, in the Office of the County Recorder of Contra Costa County and hereby conveying whatever interest the City may have in that portion of said parcel to Signature Properties.
On June 27, 2000 by Resolution No. 2105, the City Council approved the final map of Subdivision No. 8221.
On March 26, 2002 by Resolution No. 2497, the City Council accepted the public improvements of Subdivision No. 8221.
Parcel “C” was originally designed as a trail connection from the end of Bartlett Court, to the end of Olive Court in Garin Ranch, leading to the park and gym near Edna Hill School. With the configuration of the lot at the end of Olive Court, the Police Department did not have a clear view of this trail area between the two courts. Signature Properties is adjusting the lot lines to accommodate the Police Department’s request for a better line of sight. With this reconfiguration, the City will be quitclaiming a small portion (29 Sq. Ft.) of land and obtaining a larger portion (2,635 Sq. Ft.) for a more safely designed trail connection.
The trail connection between the two courts is maintained by Landscaping and Lighting District funds for this subdivision.
