Submitted by: Craig Bronzan, Director of Parks & Recreation
Poldina Scherff, Recreation Services Supervisor

Approved by: John E. Stevenson, City Manager

RECOMMENDATION
Approve appointments to the City of Brentwood Youth Commission.

PREVIOUS ACTION
On September 11, 2001, the City Council appointed the following Youth Commissioners to fill the positions that were available at that time.

Taylor Brinkman 2-year appointment (has been non-voting member for 2 years)
Coree Brown 2-year appointment (reappointment)
Brea Bryant 1-year appointment (new non-voting member)
Brian Fredenberg 2-year appointment (has been non-voting member for 2 years)
Cynthia Fredenberg 2-year appointment (reappointment)

BACKGROUND
We have had one member resign from the commission: Coree Brown. The appointments for Stacie Del Chiaro and Laura Wenograd will expire August 31, 2002 and neither wishes to be reappointed since they will be leaving for college. In addition, the appointments of Ashley Brown and Brea Bryant will expire August 31, 2002. Both of these members have applied for reappointment. The purpose of this action is to fill a total of five vacancies on the Commission (2 reappointments and 3 new appointments).

The Youth Commission is recommending to the Mayor the following applicants to fill five Youth Commissioner positions:

Youth Commission Applicants:
Ashley Brown 1-year appointment (re-appointment)
Brea Bryant 2-year appointment (re-appointment)
Megan DeGuerre 2-year appointment (new)
Crystal Hammers 2-year appointment (new)
