Persons addressing the City Council are required to limit their remarks to five (5) minutes unless an extension of time is granted by the Mayor subject to approval of the Council. Please file your name with the Mayor on the form provided at the podium. Speakers desiring answers to questions should direct it to the Council and, if relevant, the Council may direct it to the appropriate staff member.

All matters listed on the consent calendar are considered routine in nature and will be enacted by one motion. If discussion is required, that particular item will be removed from the consent calendar and will be considered separately.

1. Waive second reading and adopt Ordinance No. 708, amending Ordinance No. 333 and Ordinance No. 496, as previously amended, and approving and adopting the Amendment to the Merged Brentwood and North Brentwood Redevelopment Plans. (G. Rozenski)

2. Approve the following Resolutions concerning the Consolidated General Municipal Election to be held on November 5, 2002. (K. Diaz)

A) Resolution calling and giving notice of a General Municipal Elections on Tuesday, November 5, 2002 for electing a Mayor and two members of the City Council, and for the submission of a measure concerning the business license tax and regulations.

B) Resolution adopting regulations for candidates for elective office pertaining to candidate’s statements submitted to the voters at an election to be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2002.

C) Resolution setting priorities for filing written arguments regarding a city measure and directing the City Attorney to prepare an impartial analysis.

D) Resolution requesting the Board of Supervisors of the County of Contra Costa to consolidate a General Municipal Election to be held on November 5, 2002 with the Statewide General Election pursuant to §10403 of the Elections Code.
