Subject/Title: Consideration of a request from the property owners of 3201 Sellers Avenue to have the City prepare and submit an Out of Agency Service Request to LAFCO for sewer and water service
Submitted by: Engineering: B. Grewal/P. Eldredge
Approved by: John Stevenson, City Manager
Authorize staff to prepare an Out of Agency Service Application to LAFCO on behalf of the property owners of 3201 Sellers Avenue.
The property owners of 3201 Sellers Avenue have contacted the City and requested sewer service for their property. This property is outside the City’s current City limits and is located within the Urban Reserve on the east side of town, therefore, annexation of this property into the City is unlikely in the foreseeable future.
The County Department of Health Services has inspected the facility and has determined that the existing septic system is beyond repair and is in need of replacement. The City’s east interceptor sewer line runs in Sellers Avenue and is approximately 500 feet from the residence. There is sufficient capacity to serve this residence in the sewer system, should Council direct staff to proceed and LAFCO approves the out of agency service agreement.
The property owners are responsible for all City fees (connection, inspection, staff time and monthly sewer charges) as well as all associated LAFCO fees and construction costs should LAFCO approve this. Therefore, there is no fiscal impact to the City.
