Subject/Title: Route 4 East Corridor Transit Study Update (E Bart, Station Location, Transit Oriented Development)
Submitted by: Mitch Oshinsky, AICP, Community Development Director
Approved by: John Stevenson, City Manager
That Council receive the presentation, and provide direction as appropriate.
Approximately a year ago, Council received a presentation on the potential for e Bart, adopted a resolution expressing their support for that, and directed that a potential station in downtown and/or north Brentwood be considered.
Work on the Route 4 East Corridor Transit Study has moved forward over the past year. There have been public workshops (including one in our Community Center) showing the various alternatives being examined. Contra Costa Transportation Authority staff has provided us with the attached Progress Report, and will make a presentation to Council on it tonight.
A map showing potential Brentwood station locations is also attached, with an article on the City of Mountain View and it’s transit station and adjacent transit oriented development (briefly visited by a Councilmember, our Planning Commission and staff last year) that won a national Planning Association award.
