Subject/Title: Approve a Resolution accepting the work performed by McDonald Glen Company for the 118 and 120 Oak Street Project (CIP Project No. 336-3090).

RECOMMENDATION
Approve a Resolution accepting the work performed by McDonald Glen Company for the 118 and 120 Oak Street Project (CIP Project No. 336-3090), located at 120 Oak Street, and direct the City Clerk to file a Notice of Completion with the County Recorder.

PREVIOUS ACTION
On May 22, 2001, City Council authorized staff to solicit bids for building improvements at 118 and 120 Oak Street. On August 14, 2001 the City Council entered into an agreement with McDonald Glen Company for structural upgrades and façade improvements at 118 and 120 Oak Street. 

BACKGROUND
McDonald Glen was the lowest responsible bidder in the amount of $416,019.00. Structural changes, hazardous material removal and storefront change resulted in net change orders of $33,547.

RESOLUTION NO. 

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BRENTWOOD ACCEPTING THE WORK PERFORMED BY McDONALD GLEN COMPANY FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE 118 AND 120 OAK STREET BUILDING IMPROVEMENTS, CIP PROJECT NO. 336-3090, AND DIRECT THE CITY CLERK TO FILE A NOTICE OF COMPLETION WITH THE COUNTY RECORDER

WHEREAS, On August 14, 2001 the City Council entered into an agreement with McDonald Glen Company for the 118 and 120 Oak Street building improvements. 

WHEREAS, the work has been completed and is now ready for acceptance.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brentwood, that the work performed by McDonald Glen Company for the construction of the 118 and 120 Oak Street Building Improvement Project, CIP Project No. 336-3090 has been accepted.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is hereby directed to file a Notice of Completion with the County Recorder for the project.

NOTICE OF COMPLETION


NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT:

THE CITY OF BRENTWOOD, a general law city, in the County of Contra Costa, State of California, did on the 14th day of August, 2001 enter into an agreement with McDonald Glen Company for the 118 and 120 Oak Street Building Improvement Project, CIP Project No. 336-3090. The work described in contract documents was to be structural upgrades and façade improvements said project.

On the 11th day of June, 2002, said contract, as a whole was completed and the work was accepted by the City Council of the City of Brentwood. 

I hereby certify under penalty of perjury that the facts set forth in the foregoing Notice of Completion are true and correct.
