CITY COUNCIL AGENDA ITEM NO. 17

Meeting Date: May 28, 2002

Subject/Title: Revised City Logo

Submitted by: J. Stevenson

RECOMMENDATION
Approve a Resolution approving the design of a revised city logo for the City of Brentwood.

PREVIOUS ACTION
None.

BACKGROUND
The current city logo has needed to be modified for certain printing purposes because the words ‘City of’ in the image above the word ‘Brentwood’ is written too small to be legible. Since the oak tree is the most prominent feature of the image, it is emphasized in the revised logo. This redesign is familiar, as it is the design for our City of Brentwood lapel pins, etched mugs, municipal code binders and rug mats. It will be more universal since large or small versions of the logo will print clearly.

The revised logo will be incorporated into the design of all printed city materials such as stationery, business cards, forms, decals, etc.

FISCAL IMPACT
There will be no fiscal impact. The revised logo will be incorporated as current supplies of products imprinted with the current logo are depleted.
