Approve an ordinance amending Section 2.36.080(Q) and adding a new Chapter 2.39 to the Brentwood Municipal Code to appoint the Director of Finance and Information Systems as City Treasurer.
The City Manager’s responsibilities are outlined in Chapter 2.36. Section 2.36.080 (Q) states that the City Manager shall be the City Treasurer and Finance Officer. The City’s Director of Finance and Information Systems was appointed as the Treasurer for the Redevelopment Agency and Brentwood Infrastructure and Financing Authority on December 11, 2002.
The City Manager of the City is now serving as City Treasurer of the City and the Director of Finance and Information Systems of the city is now serving as the Treasurer of the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Brentwood (the “Agency”) and the Treasurer/Controller of the Brentwood Infrastructure Financing Authority
(“BIFA”). It is recommended that the Director of Finance and Information Systems also serve as the City Treasurer of the City in place of the City Manager so that she will serve in the capacity of Treasurer for the City, the Agency and
BIFA. This appointment is necessary to ensure that all financial matters requiring City Treasurer interaction be handled in a timely and efficient manner.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BRENTWOOD AMENDING SECTION 2.36.080 OF THE BRENTWOOD MUNICIPAL CODE AND ADDING CHAPTER 2.39, DIRECTOR OF FINANCE AND INFORMATION SYSTEMS AS CITY TREASURER
WHEREAS, the City Manager of the City of Brentwood (the “City”) has been acting as the City Treasurer of the City, pursuant to Section 2.36.080;
WHEREAS, the City Council now intends to appoint the City’s Director of Finance and Information Systems as the City Treasurer of the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brentwood, as follows:
Section 1. The foregoing recitals are true and correct, and this City Council so finds and determines.
Section 2. The City’s Director of Finance and Information Systems is hereby appointed as the City Treasurer of the City pursuant to Government Code Section 34856 and shall perform all duties in such capacity effective as of the date of this resolution.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Brentwood at a regular meeting on the 26th day of March, 2002, by the following vote:

The foregoing resolution is a full, true and correct copy of a resolution duly adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of said City duly and regularly held at the regular meeting place thereof on the 26th day of March, 2002, of which meeting all of the members of said City Council had due notice and at which a majority thereof were present; and that at said meeting said resolution was adopted by the following vote:
An agenda of said meeting was posted at least 72 hours before said meeting at City Hall, 150 City Park Way, Brentwood, California 94513, a location freely accessible to members of the public, and a brief description of said resolution appeared on said agenda.
I have carefully compared the foregoing with the original minutes of said meeting on file and of record in my office, and the foregoing is a full, true and correct copy of the original resolution adopted at said meeting and entered in said minutes.
Said resolution has not been amended, modified or rescinded since the date of its adoption and the same is now in full force and effect.
