Submitted by: Engineering: B. Grewal /S. Gronlund

Approved by: John Stevenson, City Manager

RECOMMENDATION
Approve amendments to the current Capital Improvement Budget for the Orchard Waterline Project, CIP Project No. 562-5623, to reflect prior authorized funding from the Redevelopment Agency.

PREVIOUS ACTION
On November 23, 1999, by Resolution No. RA99-08, the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Brentwood approved authorizing $73,672 in matching funds to obtain $25,000 in Community Development Block Grant Funds for the construction of a waterline and fire hydrants within the Orchard Drive Neighborhood.

BACKGROUND
The City has received a grant of $25,000 from the CDBG program in order to improve fire flow for the Orchard Drive neighborhood that qualifies as a "lower income households" neighborhood per the 1990 Census data and within the meaning of California Health and Safety Code Section 50079.5.

The City proposes to construct an 8" waterline within Orchard Drive to connect to the existing 6" waterline within McClarren Road and to construct new fire hydrants of adequate flow for the neighborhood.

FISCAL IMPACT
The current Capital Improvement Budget needs to be revised to change the funding source from unfunded to $73,672 from the Redevelopment Agency per said Resolution No. RA99-08.
