Authorize staff to donate surplus computer equipment to Footsteps Preschool, 809 Second Street, Brentwood.
On April 10, 2001 the City donated an ammonia based blueprint machine to Liberty Union High School for use as a teaching tool.
On January 22, 2002 the City donated a surplus 1989 Ford Escort to the Liberty Union High School for use as a teaching tool by the auto mechanics class.
There are four (4) computers that are obsolete and do not have CD or disk drives, a monitor and two (2) printers that do not work but are repairable just not cost effective for the City to repair.
None as the Information Systems replacement fund was set up to replace or upgrade computers every three to four years and this equipment has just been cycled out.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BRENTWOOD AUTHORIZING THE DONATION OF SURPLUS COMPUTER EQUIPMENT TO FOOTSTEPS PRESCHOOL, 809 SECOND STREET, BRENTWOOD.
WHEREAS, surplus computer equipment has been cycled out of the Information Systems replacement fund.
WHEREAS, the equipment is not cost effective for the City to repair.
WHEREAS, new computer equipment has replaced this equipment.
WHEREAS, the City of Brentwood would like to donate the surplus computer equipment to Footsteps Preschool where 40% of the families are low income, welfare to work and single parents.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brentwood, that the City will donate the surplus computer equipment to Footsteps Preschool.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Brentwood at a regular meeting held on the 26th day of March 2002, by the following vote:
