RECOMMENDATION
Approve a resolution authorizing the donation of a 1989 surplus Ford Escort to the Liberty Union High School for use as a teaching tool by the Auto Mechanics class

PREVIOUS ACTION
In April 2001 the City donated an ammonia based blueprint machine to Liberty Union High School to be used as a teaching tool.

BACKGROUND
The building division of Community Development had on order a new CNG Honda to replace a 1989 Ford Escort. The escort was damaged in a traffic accident and risk management sent a claims adjuster to check the vehicle. It was damaged beyond the value of the vehicle. Pete Fordahl, Fleet Maintenance, contacted Gary Smith, Auto Mechanics teacher at Liberty, to see if they could use the vehicle. Mr. Smith would be very happy to take the vehicle to let the students work on it.
