Reject the claim presented by Shawnie and Verardo Orcozco related to an April 5, 2001 event as recommended by the City’s third-party insurance adjuster, Contra Costa County Municipal Risk Management Insurance Authority and the City Attorney.
On October 4, 2001 Shawnie and Gerardo Orozco presented a claim against the City in excess of $25,000 alleging that their entire family, including their children are depressed and are extremely traumatized and humiliated as the result of traffic stop on April 5, 2001 when Mrs. Orozco was pulled over as a result of various traffic infractions. The claimant was cited for speeding (45 mph in a posted 35 mph zone) and the lack of proper illumination on her rear license plate.
