Declaration of Results of Special Municipal Bond Election Conducted by the City of Brentwood on November 6, 2001 with respect to the Issuance of General Obligation Bonds to Finance the Acquisition and Construction of a New Police Station
On July 10, 2001, the City Council adopted its Resolution No. 2332 determining that the public interest and necessity demand the acquisition, construction, and completion by the City of Brentwood of a new police station. By Ordinance No. 680 adopted by the City Council on July 10, 2001, the City Council called a Municipal Bond Election for the purposes of submitting to the qualified electors of the City the measure of whether bonded indebtedness of the City in the amount of $6,000,000 should be incurred to finance the acquisition, construction, and completion of said new police station. Said election was consolidated with the other elections of the County of Contra Costa and was conducted on November 6, 2001. The measure was passed with more than two-thirds of the voters voting in favor of said measure.

RESOLUTION NO. ________
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BRENTWOOD DECLARING THE RESULTS OF SPECIAL MUNICIPAL BOND ELECTION CONDUCTED IN THE CITY OF BRENTWOOD ON NOVEMBER 6, 2001
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Brentwood (the "City Council") has heretofore, pursuant to its Ordinance No. 680, adopted July 10, 2001, ordered and called an election within the City of Brentwood (the “City”) to be consolidated with other elections of the County of Contra Costa (the “County”) to be held on the same date for the purpose of submitting to the electors of the City the question of whether bonds of the City shall be issued and sold to raise money for the purposes therein specified; and
WHEREAS, by proceedings duly had and taken, a special municipal bond election (the "election") was held on November 6, 2001 in the City pursuant to said Ordinance, at which election there was submitted to the electors of the City the measure of incurring bonded indebtedness by the City hereinafter set forth; and
WHEREAS, in all respects the votes cast at said election were received and canvassed by the Registrar of Voters of the County, and the returns thereof made, determined and declared in time, form and manner as required by the City and the general laws of the State of California providing for and regulating elections in the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brentwood as follows:
1. All of the foregoing recitals are true.
2. Said canvass by the Registrar of Voters of the County as shown by the statement of all votes cast and certified by the County Clerk is hereby ratified, confirmed, approved and entered upon the minutes of this meeting.
3. At the election the following measure for incurring bonded indebtedness was submitted to the electors of the City:
Measure J "Shall the City of Brentwood be authorized to issue General Obligation Bonds in the amount of six million dollars ($6,000,000) principal amount to finance the construction, acquisition and improvement of a new Police Station, and all costs incident thereto?"
4. The total number of votes cast regarding Measure J in the City of Brentwood was 2,886, with 2,132 voting “yes” and 754 voting “no.” Measure J is passed by the requisite two-thirds votes and is thus enacted.

The foregoing resolution is a full, true and correct copy of a resolution duly adopted by a vote of a majority of the members of the City Council said City at a regular meeting of the City Council of said City duly and regularly and legally held on the 11th day of December, 2001, of which meeting all of such members had due notice, as follows:
An agenda of said meeting was posted at least 72 hours before said meeting at 150 City Park Way, Brentwood, California, a location freely accessible to members of the public, and a brief description of said resolution appears on said agenda.
I have carefully compared the foregoing with the original minutes of said meeting on file and of record in my office, and the foregoing is a full, true and correct copy of the original resolution adopted at said meeting and entered in said minutes.
Said resolution has not been amended, modified or rescinded since the date of its adoption and the same is now in full force and effect.
