CITY COUNCIL AGENDA ITEM NO. 29
Meeting Date: August 28, 2001
Subject/Title: Appointment of Residential Growth Management Program (RGMP) Evaluation Committee
Submitted by: Mitch Oshinsky, AICP, Community Development Director
Approved by: Jon Elam, City Manager
RECOMMENDATION: That Council appoint two Council members and two Planning Commissioners to the RGMP Evaluation Committee.
PREVIOUS ACTION: On July 6, 2001, Council adopted the RGMP.
BACKGROUND: The RGMP Process provides that dwelling unit allocations be considered on an annual fiscal year basis, three times per year, beginning in July. The Community Development Director will review each application with an RGMP Evaluation Committee as appointed by the City Council, consisting of two Council members and two Planning Commissioners. The Committee will then forward a recommendation to the Planning Commission. The Commission then makes a recommendation to the Council, which is the final authority.
Fyi, with the close of the first filing deadline for Allocation applications on July 30, we have received the following applications:
1. Braddock & Logan, northeast corner of Fairview and Central, 31 lots
2. DeSilva Group, south of Sunset Road, west of Sellers Road, 528 lots phased over 4 years
3. De Nova Homes, south side of Sycamore, 53 lots
With the submittal of these Allocation applications, the work of the Committee will soon begin, as they need to review them during September.
