RECOMMENDATION
Approve a Resolution designating the Director of Finance and Information Systems as the alternate Board Member on the Contra Costa County Municipal Risk Management Insurance Authority Board of Directors (CCCMRMIA).

PREVIOUS ACTION
The City Council approved Resolution No. 92-72 adopted June 9, 1992 designating the City Manager as the voting member; and Resolution No. 94-98 adopted June 14, 1998, designating the Deputy Finance Director as alternate; and approved Resolution No. 2015 on February 8, 2000, designating the City Clerk as the voting Board Member and the City Manager as the alternate Board Member for the CCCMRMIA Board of Directors. 

BACKGROUND
The governing documents of CCCMRMIA require the City appoint its City Manager, a department head, or the staff person responsible for the City’s risk management as the primary Board member, and that the alternate Board member shall have the same qualifications as the primary board member. 


RESOLUTION NO.


A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BRENTWOOD DESIGNATING THE DIRECTOR OF FINANCE AND INFORMATION SYSTEMS AS THE ALTERNATE ON THE CONTRA COSTA COUNTY MUNICIPAL RISK MANAGEMENT INSURANCE AUTHORITY BOARD

WHEREAS, the City of Brentwood is a member of the Contra Costa County Municipal Risk Management Authority; and 

WHEREAS, the governing documents of the Contra Costa Risk Management Authority require that the City shall appoint its City Manager or the department head or staff person responsible for the City’s risk management function as the primary board member, and that the alternate Board member shall have the same qualifications as the primary Board member; and

WHEREAS, the City Council, by Resolution No. 92-72 adopted June 9, 1992, designated the City Manager as the voting member and, by Resolution No. 94-98 adopted June 14, 1994, designated the Deputy Finance Director as the alternate Board member of the CCCMRMIA Board of Directors; and Resolution No. 2015 adopted February 8, 2001 designated the City Clerk as the voting member and the City Manager as the alternate; and

WHEREAS, the City Council, under the recommendation of the City Manager desires to designate the Director of Finance and Information Systems as the alternate on the Contra Costa County Municipal Risk Management Insurance Authority Board of Directors.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Brentwood designates the Director of Finance and Information Systems as the alternate on the Contra Costa County Municipal Risk Management Insurance Authority Board of Directors.

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Brentwood at a regular meeting held on June 12, 2001 by the following vote:
