Subject/Title: Request for Support for Field Renovation

Submitted by: Jon Elam, City Manager

Approved by: Jon Elam, City Manager

Motion to approve, deny or continue the request of Liberty Union High School District for $25,000 to provide funding to renovate Ohmstede Field.

This matter was considered at the February 8, 2000 City Council meeting.

Attached are materials received from Liberty Union High School District regarding Ohmstede Field. It has been requested that before the City staff process this request, the issue of providing these resources be brought back before the City Council for direction.

Initially, the City Council approved this request pending adoption by the School District of new use rules that included opportunities for use of Ohmstede Field for lighted soccer use. Liberty Union High School District has now adopted revised regulations for this other use. If these changes reflect the City Councilís intention then the initial February 8, 2000 action can stand and a check for $25,000 may be issued. Funds could come from the Council Contingency Fund.
