Authorize the City Engineer to execute a Design Contract Change Order with Monk & Associates, LLC in an amount not to exceed $56,581.40 for Sand Creek Road (CIP Project No. 336-3061), generally located between Fairview Avenue and O’Hara Avenue.
On February 13, 2001, Council authorized the City Engineer to execute a Design Contract Change Order with Carlson, Barbee & Gibson, Inc. (CBG) in an amount not to exceed $106,144 for Sand Creek Road (Central), (CIP Project No. 336-3061; and authorized the City Engineer to execute a Design Contract Change Order with Mark Thomas & Company Inc. (MT&Co) in an amount not to exceed $150,500 for Sand Creek Road (East), (CIP Project No. 336-3061).
On September 20, 2000, the City Manager executed a purchase order with Monk & Associates, LLC in the amount of $13,350 to obtain the necessary environmental permits with the appropriate regulatory agencies for construction of the two creek crossings within Marsh Creek and Sand Creek for the completion of Sand Creek Road. This work included consultation with the United States Department of Fish & Wildlife Services, United States Army Corp, California Department of Fish and Game, and California Regional Water Quality Control Board. The original scope also included assisting the City in identifying a suitable site for necessary mitigation measures for disturbing the creeks.
Now that a suitable site has been identified at the south end of the Sun Cal Property, this change order reflects the cost to prepare an off-site mitigation plan. If approved, the total amount for this contract will be $69,931.
