Direct the City Manager to sign the above-entitled Agreement
In 1995 the School District and the City of Brentwood had an Agreement to fund an officer. That Agreement has expired.
The City and Districts desire to place a second School Resource Officer in the Districts' schools. It costs approximately $230,272 to employee two officers, including salary and benefits, for seventeen months plus an additional $122,390 for overhead and administration for the same period. The City has received a grant for $125,000 to support the cost of the school resource officer program, and this Agreement is intended to set forth the cost sharing responsibilities and other responsibilities of the parties.
The City and each School District shall pay equal shares of the actual cost of salary and benefits of the two officers. For purposes of this Agreement, cost of the services refers to only salary and benefits and does not include administrative and overhead costs or in-kind services. For information purposes only, the City's administrative and overhead or in-kind service cost provides to these two resource officers is estimated to be $241,786. Each School District shall only be responsible for funding its share of salary and benefits. The first cycle (2-1-01 to 6-30-01) share is $35,100. The second cycle (7-1-01 to 6-30-02) share will be adjusted according to the percentage of wage and benefit increase approved by the City and the Brentwood Police Officers Association.
