Authorize the funding of $36,213.00 to relocate Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) facilities for the construction of the new traffic signal at Fairview Avenue and Minnesota Avenue (CIP No. 336-3120) and authorize the City Manager to execute an agreement with PG&E to perform this work.
On February 8, 2000, the Council directed the City Engineer to install a three-way stop sign at the intersection of Fairview Avenue and Minnesota Avenue prior to the installation of the traffic signal.
Staff has prepared the plans and specifications for the traffic signal improvement and the project will be going out to bid shortly in conjunction with the Central Boulevard and Griffith Lane Traffic Signal Project. In order to construct the improvements, two PG&E power poles must be relocated. The cost for this relocation is $36,213.00.
