held a neighborhood meeting on June 1, 2000, to discuss the Loma Vista
School Neighborhood Park. City Council held a special meeting on June 19, 2000, to meet
with neighborhoods surrounding the Loma Vista School Neighborhood Park
to discuss the park and directed staff to move forward with a redesign
that would meet the needs of the neighborhood.
City staff held a neighborhood meeting on Wednesday, August 30,

called San Jose Park, the Loma Vista Park, adjacent to Loma Vista Elementary
School, was built for the City by Greystone Homes, based on a design that
was approved by the City and Brentwood Union School District.
As the park was in the final stages of construction, many of the
residents surrounding the park became concerned with the design and co-use
of the property with the school district.
After staff held a neighborhood meeting on the subject, City Council
had a special meeting to hear the concerns of the neighbors.
As a result of that meeting, staff was directed to move forward
with a redesign of the park, with permission of Brentwood Union School
District. Staff has been
working with Abey/Arnold, one of the City's Landscape Architectural firms
to provide a redesign of the park.
held a neighborhood meeting at Loma Vista School on August 30, 2000, to
reach consensus on the design for the park.
Abey/Arnold is currently completing final construction documents
that will be ready to go out to bid in mid-October.
Council action is required to establish this as a CIP project so that
park development fees can be used for the redesign and construction.
