Funding Agreement with the State of California, Office of Traffic

of a Resolution authorizing the City Manager to sign the funding agreement
with the State of California, Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) in the amount
of $54,500 to develop an interactive collision and citation database analysis
the months of September and October, 1998, the City’s Traffic Engineer
prepared an application to meet the 1999 OTS grant application deadline.
The Grant Agreement to “hold” Brentwood’s funding has been submitted
to OTS including an increase to the cost request including the increase
of software and equipment. If
Council approves of this agreement, the signed Resolution will be included
in our package to obtain funding for this project.
grant agreement will allow the Traffic Engineer to develop a manageable
collision and citation database and analysis system with capabilities
of importing electronic data files to perform collision analysis.
This tool will also allow the generation of collision diagrams
and reporting. Implementation of this program will initiate the level of service
as stated in the attached agreement and project description.
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BRENTWOOD AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE FUNDING AGREEMENT WITH THE OFFICE OF TRAFFIC
SAFETY FOR ALLOCATION OF FUNDS FOR THE BRENTWOOD COMPREHENSIVE TRAFFIC
SAFETY PROGRAM AND TO FILE THE GRANT AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA,
OFFICE OF TRAFFIC SAFETY
WHEREAS, The Office of Traffic
Safety (OTS) provides for disbursement of funds for traffic safety projects;
OTS allocated funding in the amount of $46,000 for the Brentwood Comprehensive
Traffic Safety Program.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED
by the City Council of the City of Brentwood, that the City Manager is
authorized to execute a cooperative funding agreement with the State of
California, Office of Traffic Safety for an allocation of $54,500 to include
the revised costs of equipment and software.
IT FURTHER RESOLVED
that this resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage
by the City Council of the City of Brentwood at a regular meeting on the
23rd day of May 2000 by the following vote:
