City Manager to enter into a contract with DATA911 to upgrade the Police
Computer Aided Dispatch and Records Management System

the City Manager to enter into a contract with DATA911 to upgrade an install
the Millennium CAD/RMS system
the City’s efforts to have all systems Y2K compliant it is necessary to
upgrade the Police Department Computer Aided Dispatch and Records Management
System. Because of a scheduling
conflict, DATA911 was unable to upgrade the Police software to the new
Millennium system. However,
they did install a temporary Y2K patch to the existing system with the
condition that the City would upgrade to their new Windows based system.
the City decides not to install the Windows based system, DATA911 will
bill the City $60,000 for the patch made to the existing system.
For an additional $38,200, the Police Department would be upgrading
to the current CAD/RMS technology for Police reporting and data retrieval.
This cost also includes one license for Computer Aided Dispatch.
the City wait to upgrade to the Millennium system, the cost will be significantly
higher, $60,000 for the patch plus an additional $103,000 for the Windows
funds for this system have been provided for in the Information Systems
Capital Project 336-3098.
