PREVIOUS ACTIONS: Continued from January 11, 2000 meeting
Council discussion and provide direction to City staff.
Attached is a letter from the Diablo Estates Homeowners Association
regarding the replacement of a fence that abuts their property.
The attached letter shows the location of the fence.
This is brought forth at the request of the Homeowners Association.
The City Council has an adopted policy that adopts that subdivision
walls are the City's responsibility.
Most are maintained through various subdivisions Lighting and
Landscape Districts. In
the case of Diablo Estates the City approved in 1998 that the Homeowners
Association take over the responsibility of the LLD that serves that
development. The Homeowners
Association is asking to take over the responsibilities of their walls
from the City. As a part
of that they want to rebuild the wall.
They are requesting some cost sharing for this and in turn agree
to relieve the City of any future maintenance responsibilities.
While the cost of $24,000 may be high the alternative of the
City maintaining the all would cost money also although we might be
able to recover the City costs by reactivating the City administered
LLD. This is a Council
policy question to fund this request.
