The Great Valley Center is a non-profit corporation created to support activities and organizations that promote the economic, social, and environmental well being of Californias Central Valley.
Master planning will begin in 2000 for the enhancement and restoration of a portion of Marsh Creek in the area between Deer Creek and Sand Creek. Partial funding for this effort is expected to be granted by the San Francisco Bay Area Coastal Conservancy in March. Additional funding is needed for a collaborative planning effort to determine other areas of Marsh Creek which could be enhanced and/or restored.
Eligible Great Valley Center LEGACI grant projects include those which preserve and enhance unique natural resources. Staff has prepared an application for LEGACI grant funding to assist with the master plan effort for enhancement and restoration opportunities for Marsh Creek. The planning will be a joint effort of the City of Brentwood, community residents and stakeholders, Contra Costa County, East Bay Regional Park District and the Delta Science Center.
