CITY OF BRENTWOOD
SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING
September 5, 2006

A special meeting of the City Council of the City of Brentwood was called to order at 10:00 a.m., Brentwood City Council Chamber, 734 Third Street, Brentwood, CA 94513, with Mayor Swisher presiding.

Present: Council Members Beckstrand, Brockman, Gutierrez, Swisher, Taylor
Absent: None

SENATE SELECT COMMITTEE ON CALIFORNIA INFRASTRUCTURE: SAFETY FOR VASCO ROAD (10:01 a.m.)

Senator Tom Torlakson chaired the meeting and introduced and welcomed those in attendance.

At 10:10 a.m., a Victim Impact Presentation was given by Jeff Altman and Rosa Osborn.

At 10:19 a.m., the Vasco Road Task Force, comprised of Brentwood City Council Member Annette Beckstrand, and Police Lieutenant, Kevin King, presented a summary and recommendations.

At 10:38 a.m., a presentation regarding Near Term Safety and Operational Improvements on Vasco Road was made by Daniel Woldsenbet, Alameda County Public Works Department, and Maurice Shiu, Contra Costa County Public Works Department.

At 11:13 a.m., the topic of Long Term Need and Implementation Issues was presented by Bill Gray, Gray-Bowen Associates and Funding and Related Matters was presented by Mark Watts, Executive Director, Transportation California.

PUBLIC COMMENTS – (11:48 a.m.)

Public Comments were made by the following individuals: Bob Doran, Dave Wahl, Jim Frazier, and Chris States.

There was no action taken by the City Council.

ADJOURNMENT

There being no further business, the special meeting was adjourned at 11:56 a.m.
