The committee’s goal is to have their first meeting in early September.
6. ACTION ITEM: Update from the Master Plan Committee regarding the proposed Brentwood Youth Leadership Conference. (C. Walker)

Chair Strauss volunteered to address this item. He explained that the committee meetings have lapsed due to logistical difficulties. He doesn’t feel that the event can proceed at this point and feels it should be postponed from the original date of September 11, 2010 and reconsidered for perhaps November 6, 2010. At the next Youth Commission meeting, the committee will present a restructured plan on how they will proceed.

No action was taken on this matter.

In order to participate, the commission would need to provide a vehicle, preferably a convertible or truck, and at least four commissioners.

The general consensus was that most commissioners were interested in riding in the parade. It was agreed that an arrival time of 5:15 p.m. would provide sufficient time to prepare for the 6:00 p.m. start.
