SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES
April 27, 2004 at 7:00 p.m.

CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order at 7:05 p.m. by Commissioner Nicole Ford.

ROLL CALL: Commissioners present were Jessica Ordaz, Belinda Ordaz, Crystal Hammers, Taylor Brinkman, Daisy Hurtado, Nicole Forde and Megan DeGuerre. Commissioners absent were as follows: Brea Bryant, Andrea Tate, and Cynthia Fredenberg. Tom Burt, Recreation Services Supervisor represented staff. Adult Advisor Kiko Ceja was absent.

PRESENTATIONS: None

AGENDA REVIEW: No additions or changes.

CITIZENS COMMENTS: None

SCHEDULED MATTERS:
1. Review of applications and election of youth commission scholarship winners.
Mr. Burt began the meeting by explaining the procedure to selecting a winner. He stated only one application for a male was received. Therefore, the winner had been predetermined. Mr. Burt then passed the four female applications out to the commissioners. Each commissioner took turns reviewing the documents. The Commissioners discussed some general topics regarding the applications during the review session. After the review session ended the Commissioners then proceeded to vote on which female applicant was most worthy of the award. They took first place and second place votes. After the selection was made Mr. Burt reviewed the selected application again. The Commissioners verified each qualification to make sure it met. At the end of the meeting Mr. Burt announced the male winner as Bryan Pridmore Jr. and the female winner as Amada Lopez.
