SPECIAL MEETING

CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order at 6:05 p.m.

ROLL CALL: Present were Taylor Brinkman, Nicole Forde, Crystal Hammers, Daisy Hurtado, Belinda Ordaz, Jessica Ordaz, and Andrea Tate. Adult Advisors David Lang and Kiko Ceja were also present. Staff present were Poldina Scherff, Recreation Services Manager and Tom Burt, Recreation Services Supervisor.

AGENDA REVIEW: No changes or additions.

CITIZEN COMMENTS: None.

SCHEDULED MATTERS:

Item No. 1 Discuss Phase II (Job Resource Card) of Youth Master Plan (P. Scherff).
Discussion took place regarding the desire of the Youth Commissioners to have “Brentwood Jobs for Brentwood Youths” only. Commissioners brainstormed ideas for a possible job fair. Ideas mentioned were as follows:

- Talk to the Chamber of Commerce
- Find a liaison for the event
- Obtain list of all business members in town
- Business representatives
- Informational pamphlets and flyers
- Music
- Incentives/give-aways
- Have the event during school hours (with Career Day at Liberty High School)
- Provide listing of cooperative businesses (visual)

Following discussion on the job resource card, Commissioners brainstormed and developed a flip chart diagram with suggestions and ideas for website design.
